Living in an INSTANT world has many positives and negatives. We can readily get just about anything, see anything hear anything we want with a simply click of a button on our phone, table or computer. News runs 24-hours a day every day. We are bombarded from all sides and can be easily consumed by the world around us and lose sight of what is important to us and who we are.
Below are a few tips on being MINDful (being present in the moment) and less mindFUL (Distracted by the world).
1) take a walk outside without being pulled into your device. Use all 5 of your sense to experience the world as you walk. Notice how your body is interacting with the world.
2) draw or color. There are many free coloring pages you can download for free or if you are feeling uber creative make your own coloring page. This is a fun option if you want to include others in your mindfulness practice. Each one can draw a design and another can color it in! (REMEMBER IT IS ABOUT THE PROCESS NOT THE PRODUCT. Just have fun)
3) Check out a few guided meditation apps such as Calm or Insight Timer. There many free versions available for use.
As always do what you feel works best for you.
I look forward to blog more tips and ideas for positive mental health.
